Art Reach will be hosting a wine tasting fundraiser celebrating “Wines From Around the World”. The fundraiser event and will be held on Thursday, April 8, from 7-9p.m. at Coco Joe’s Beach House.
The Art Reach fundraiser will be a tasteful evening complete with wine tasting and beer sampling. There will be ten tables of local brewer’s personal mixtures of foreign wines and beers. Hors d’ oeuvres, live entertainment, discounted prices on wine purchased at the event and a 50/50 raffle will be part of your evening.
In addition, the event will celebrate the 2009 Art Reach Volunteer of the Year, Rick Stevens. Rick is an oil painter who helps Art Reach in a variety of ways, including giving us the pleasure of displaying and selling his work. He is a regular volunteer at Art Reach on Broadway, was instrumental in starting the Wellspring Literary Series and Art from Our Park, delighted us with his rendition of Scrooge during Dickens Weekend, and has volunteered his time and painting skills to help programs such as Art Walk and Chair Affair. He has also taught a theatre class for children, painted a sled for us and just gives the organization a positive energy.
Coco Joe’s Beach House is located at 4855 East Bluegrass Road. Its nautical décor stands out from the traditional look of many bars. The comfortable atmosphere mixed with the live entertainment is sure to make a memorable evening for friends and family.
Cost for admission is $35 which includes hors d’ oeuvres, live entertainment, 10% discount on wine purchases at the event and the opportunity to support the Art Reach organization. Tickets will be on sale starting February 29, 2010 and will be available at Art Reach on Broadway (111 E. Broadway), Art Reach Center (319 S. University) and at Coco Joe’s Beach House during normal business hours. All proceeds will benefit future Art Reach Programs.
